Never go full leftist

In 1980, I walked away from (the rapidly going full leftist) Democrats, registered Republican, and voted for Ronald Reagan, because, finally (it seemed at the time to have taken me too long) I got it. Forty years later, if we dare to step in the bay, or if we step wrong on the streets of San Francisco, we literally step in the consequences of the votes of thousands who didn't.

My advice is never go full leftist. And, stop voting for Democrats!

Telltale tall tales

Poe's narrator heard his guilt, in the sound of a telltale heart. Leftists speak their guilt, in sounding off with telltale accusations.

We're way past hanging chad, now

Randall Monroe says something interesting here, I think.

Except, where I have lived and worked for most of 40 years, "A very left-leaning place", according to "Zuck" (AKA Silicon Valley), this opinion depends, in my personal experience. In 2000, when the political conversation included words like "polls", "Bush", "Supreme Court", and "hanging chad", I can recall a knowledgeable technical guy I know, at a networking company I used to work for, tell me we had to go to electronic voting, to make things more "fair". It was as if margin of error, reliability, transparency, hacking, etc., had suddenly vanished from his knowledge- even my bringing up those subjects had no visible effect on his thinking. His mind was made up.

Democrats fail to say what they mean.

Senator John Kennedy, R-Louisiana, says:

"The House Democrats say that the President it out of control. What they really mean is that the President is out of their control, and that is not grounds for impeachment."

Party motto suggestions

I originally wrote these motto suggestions 3 years ago, but they still seem good to me.

GOP: A Republican Party, if you can keep it.
Dem: Abandon all hope except false hope, ye who enter here.
